Best TV Out

Hey, I am planning a new system for the house and need to know who is making the best card for output to a tv. Nothing fancy, (a 32" sony with S video connections.) I doubt I will have a second moniter so the TV output has to be surperb.

Thanks in advance.

out of all 4 video cards i ever owned. the radeon 7500 was the best. By FAR. the TV out was at full screen. my Gforce 256ddr was poor compared to the ATI

Do you remember what controller it uses? I could have sworn that heard (Read) about a new TV out chip that is head and shoulders above the rest. Just can't remember what card/cards it was on. Most TV outs are limited to 800x600 this one went all the way to 1024x768 and the fonts looked as smooth as most others on 640x480! Damn my feeble memory!

I have to agree. My radeon vivo64 DDR has superb TV out compared to my cousins Gforce (not sure what model he has). I'd say any radeon with TV out will supply a great picture. I watch DVD's through mine all the time.

It is limited to 800x600. I haven't heard of the chip you are reffering to, but please post it if you come across it.

Here is a quote I found on Sharky Extreme. "Leadtek has also done a "one up" on other GeForce 3 manufacturers by including a Conexant TV-Out component with the WinFast GeForce 3 TD. Standard TV-Out components made by Brooktree that appear on the Visiontek GeForce 3 are capable of delivering a signal as large as 800x600 to a standard TV. In comparison, the newer Conexant TV-Out module allows the WinFast to render up to 1024x768 on a TV. At lower resolutions like 800x600, the GeForce 3 has little to offer over GeForce 2 based products, but the differences become clearer as the resolution is increased. When paired with fully hardware Anti-Aliasing, 1024x768 on a 32" TV is a site to behold. The Conexant chip on the WinFast GeForce 3 TD is a definite plus."

I suppose a GeForce 3 will do for now. The Leadtek uses the new chip. Thanks Guys.

Unless someone knows of another card that also uses that controller? I always like to compare and have choices...
