Best TV for $600?

Ok,

we've got a debate in our dorm. We need a TV. We have 600 bucks. We want the best possible viewing area for DVD's, bball games, etc. should be viewable from all angles of a large room. 600 bucks max. I am at a loss at that small of a budget
