Best Tmobile phone out right now is.....?

I sold T-Mobile phones for 4 years, do you think this is the first time they've ever had a situation the system can't do something, but a salesperson or customer service agent wants to do it?

If you can't find away to do it, you obviously aren't adventerous enough. Sorry.

I get a 20% corporate discount on top of EM+.

Anyway, all three of those situations apply to me. I switch frequently, I buy whatever phone I think is best regardless of who sells it, and I itch like a druggie in rehab if I don't get a new phone every six months.

I realize for a lot of people EM+ isn't worth it, but for me, it is. I realize you "can't" switch off of EM+, but I bet if I went in to a T-Mobile store and said "look, switch me or I'm going to Verizon", they'll make it happen. They can be prodded to do a lot of things if you insist hard enough.

Wow, that is awesome. Tmobile wouldnt give me corporate discount (or my job doesn't support?) on the non-contract plan. If you can get corporate discount on the EM+, then it makes it more appealing.

For me, however, I think I am stuck with keeping my 700 minute preferred plus plan for $39.99 and add 30$ data plan and then apply my 15% corporate discount if I were to upgrade to a data phone...

You want to get into an E-Peen contest with me? I think I'm fully capable of finding work arounds for system issue. But let's be honest, sometimes there just aren't work arounds, this is one of those times.

As for my credentials, you are probably the man, but the company saw fit that they send me to Las Vegas this year on an awards trip for being one of the top 1% in the company. But I suck at my job....

How long has it even been since you worked for the company? How do you get off arguing with me on something that you know nothing of?

To be honest, I think Deeko is full of shit. I am under the impression that it is not possible to get above a 6% discount on EM+ plans. Those aren't my words, those are the words of our COO, as of... oh I dunno, last Friday morning. I was in the same room as him when he said it... but Deeko seems to think he knows everything...

Oh, one more question. Did you work for T-Mobile, or did you sell T-Mobile phones at an indirect dealer?

Cuda, I need to renew 2 of my family plan lines and sell the phones, what dumb phones do you suggest I renew with to avoid the data plan?

Nokia Neuron is a really good option. It qualifies for the BOGO offer, but is not considered a smart phone, thus you don't need data. It's not a bad phone either. Personally, I don't like it, but there are certainly worse options.

It's also the cheapest Skype enabled phone, if you want to make some really cheap phone calls while at home. (ditch the landline)

I just asked a simple "Best Tmobile phone out right now" question and what the hell happened in here. Now we are talking about contracts and discount amounts.

Back on topic. So it's either the Nexus one or the HTC HD2.

One is andriod based and the other is windows mobile 6.5 based. The andriod has the option for apps so based on that I'll probably end up going with that unless something new pops out into the market in a few months.

A couple of things to consider. The HD2 also has apps, but not as robust an app market as Android. That said, if you are really into your phones, XDA has a very large community that does a lot of development for Windows Mobile phones. And, when the Evo 4g comes out there should be a really nice port for the HD2 to run Android. (there already is an Android port, but a couple key things dont work)

For the $, the HD2, hands down.

I have an N1 and an HD2, The biggest draws to the N1 for me is the app store and the integration of Google services.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AmKyti2XEgY watching this video HD2 vs N1... the touch buttons towards the bottom of the phone seem not as responsive (menu, etc). Thoughts on that for those who own the N1 ?

It just takes some getting used to. Ive honestly never had a problem with the touch buttons on the N1. I can say though, that in my experience, I've seen a number of HD2's that have had their physical buttons stop working. It may just be bad luck that I've seen so many, but it is definitely something that makes me wary about getting one. (and for the record, I probably will be buying one)

I will respond to this briefly and then get back on topic, and you can continue sulking in the corner if you'd like. I never said I was "the man", in fact you are the only one making that dubious claim. Its been a few years since I worked there, I have a real job now, but congrats on being a good little T-Mobile soldier, I guess.

Anyway, I "get off" arguing with you because I've already seen it happen at a T-Mobile store, when I was there to get my HD2 they did it for the guy next to me. I wasn't paying attention to the specifics, other than the guy saying it was a pain in the ass but that he could do it. I guess you know better than him. I've already come up with a method that I would assume works (think the method you described as a workaround, but in house), but I'll leave that mystery up to you to figure out.

I don't know why you're going on about "e-peen" contests, you're the only one that's attempted to bring this discussion there, more than once now, I'm merely responding to you. If you don't want to hear the answer to questions or responses to statements, then don't make them, sport.

The HD2 does in fact have apps. Lots of them. They are just a little harder to find. The Windows Marketplace for Mobile has a lot fewer than the Android Market, but there's tons out there on the internet, including the aforementioned XDA forums.

The larger screen on the HD2 is not to be discounted. Its a lot better for browsing, and considerably better for typing. If you aren't a big touch screen keyboard fan, considering you're coming from a Blackberry, the combination of the larger standard keyboard + the addition of Swype on the HD2 makes it invaluable.

I had a G1 and then a Droid, before jumping back to T-Mobile with the HD2, rather than the Nexus One, and while I miss the easy selection in the market, I make due.

Touch buttons work flawlessly. The actual spot you're supposed to touch them at is a little above the center of the button. You're supposed firmly touch the buttons as well, not tap them super lightly and quickly. It only takes a couple seconds to figure this out when you first get the phone.

You folks with TM experience, is there a work around to get a different area code on a phone on a family plan?

I started my family plan in TX, daughter still lives there, but Id like to add a line with a Los Angeles area code, TMobile says I can only gen a new number with a Texas area code on my current family plan.

Okay how about this topic - media play.

HD2 - comes installed with transformers and I saw a playback of it and it looked fantastic.

N1 - ?? How is movie playback on this?

A couple of things. 1. You never answered if you worked for T-Mobile, or an indirect. I can only assume indirect, based on your attitude. 2. Congratulations on having a 'real' job? What the fuck does that mean anyway? My job is pretty real. I get full health benefits, make more than the average income and work pretty easy hours. Plus T-Mobile paid for a good portion of my Bachelors degree. But, its somehow not a real job? 3. I've already said I think you're full of shit and lying. You claim you get a 20% discount on EM+ plans. I'd be EXTREMELY surprised if this were the case. I think you're just lying, as you are with 'seeing' someone get converted from EM+ to a contracted rate plan. Like I said, its not really possible unless you port your number outside of T-Mobile. Just 'going into store and telling them you'll cancel' isn't going to get it done. Most of the people in the store will just laugh and tell you to cancel anyway.

But keep on thinking you know everything. Or just flat out lying, I can't figure which it is, but definitely one of the two.

If you'd like to continue arguing with me, feel free to take it to PM, or start a new thread. As I said, I'm not going to continue aiding in the derailing this thread. I haven't lied about anything, for the record.

N1 screen is smaller than the HD2 but it is a better type of screen for movies, pictures, and pretty much anything except being used in direct sunlight.

Ok, here's the scoop with the corporate discounts on the Even More Plus plans:

There is no corporate discount applied on any Even More Plus plan to either the rate plan or feature charges, you're already receiving a significantly discounted rateplan price with the Even More Plus plans.
If your corporate agreement with T-Mobile included no activation fee, then your $35 migration fee would also be waived.

I have found though, with a lot of customers if you switch to an Even More plan the savings are better with your corporate discount still applied. Usually comes out to be just a dollar or two difference and you still would get to have a discounted phone every two years. So if you have a corporate discount on your plan it's best to choose an Even More plan instead of an Even More Plus plan.

How about another thread?

How about fatwallet?

http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/hot-deals/962046

And right off of T-mobiles website

"Limited time offer; subject to change. Taxes and fees additional. Unlimited features are only for direct communication between two people. $35 per line activation fee may be required. If you switch plans you may be bound by existing contract term (and related $200/line early contract termination fee) and $35/line Even More Plus plan activation fee may apply. You may be unable to switch to some plans. Premiere and other business/association discounts may not be available. "

I could go on and on, Deeko. The burden of proof is on you. The reason I am keeping this debate going, is you are on here, giving false advice to people. You are spouting bullshit as if its fact, when its entirely wrong. You back this up under the premise that you 'used to work for tmobile' an indirect scammer I can only assume.

I'll make this real easy for you. When I'm back at work in a few days, I'll go on our internal company website and find the exact verbage of it for you. I assure you, you are not getting a 20% corporate discount on an Even More + rate plan.

It says "may" right there in those terms you posted. Do you assume I work for the same company or use the same discounts as those people? What do you want, me to scan my bill next month and post it? Want my SS # too?

This will be my last response to you in this thread. This thread is not about Even More vs Even More Plus. It has gotten derailed, and the OP has requested it get back on topic. Any further posts by you amount to childish trolling. If you want to continue this discussion, PM me, or start a new thread.

Cuda1447 - stop freaking out, I could careless what kind of discounts t-mobile employees get. I will pay for the phone at whatever cost it's available when I purchase the phone. Why is it so hard to stay on topic.

Right, it does say may. That doesn't mean that you will be eligible to get discounts, though. It also says you 'may' be charged for overages if you go over your minutes. But guess what, there isn't a possibility that you won't be, despite the word 'may'. And no, I don't expect you to post a bill showing a discount, that would be impossible. You don't have it.

OP-

Sorry for getting off topic. I just get irritated when people give bullshit advice. If he gives you advice on one thing that is obviously a lie, how can you trust his advice on others?

But I've made my point, I think we all know the truth now. Back to the HD2.

OP, I think the best question is what OS do you prefer? Android or Winmo? That will make a big difference as to which phone you like more.
