Best tires

This goes back to a previous thread somewhat.
Is it always best to stick with the manufacturers tire size. In particular, can you change the tire size to get a better ride. can you get a bigger sidewall. Can you change the tire width without getting wider rims. I have 265/70/16's on my yukon but is this best?

you must be careful to choose a size that will keep the overall circumference of the wheel to the same size, or the Odometer and Speedometer will be off. Once you find a tire with the right specs, you can see if it will fit your rims width by checking the manufacturers specs.
