Well, im deciding to get a new TI graphing calc. Has to be 83 or higher, I lost my first 83 :(. Anyways I was thinking of getting an 89, I need to save money though, has to be good for SAT's, college, high school, trig, calculus, everything! :) so shoot me some opinions, thanks in advance, if you got one for sale, no markings, scratches, shoot me an email!

You might want to check out the HP-48. It's served me well from 11th grade to now (junior in college).

A&M has a few classes that require an HP-48. You can learn the thing yourself if you really wanted to. When I went to high school, they were teaching the rest of the students how to use a TI-82. With the HP, I had it easy. ;)

Another vote for the 89! The exact same thing happened to me and I got an 89 about 2 weeks ago it is so much nicer than the 83 :)

does the 89 have unit conversions? If you're doing anything in engineering that does a lot of problem solving having the unit conversion option of the 86 is great. But otherwise I'd say 89 or HP49G.

through college...

hmmm...

i have not had to use my graphing calculator much at all.

the only reason i even use my graphing calc is to program in numbers to solve problems..., store ### -> A, etc... used for equations...

if your teacher lets you use your calculator on tests, that's a-okay... otherwise, you're screwed.

The 89 is great for almost all types of calculations. The 83 is IMO better for statistical Calcs but tahts about it.
But I would recommend the 89 over teh 83.
