I got one from a guy I worked with at my last office. Not a teacher, but it belongs here.

"Interns are meant to be seen and not heard."

I hav to write all these down...only 4 more years until they let me teach HS!

You better be a cool teacher, all the other ones just pissed me off. My grudges let me learn more from the teachers I enjoyed, although I guess that may be completely my own fault.

How about quotes from a student teacher?

Me: I have a $2,000 computer.. I'm in a University and I'll be graduating soon, my dad makes over $100,000, I drive a new car, my sister works for Harvard,

🙂

A girl in my HS English class once needed to find chaperones for the French Club dance on Friday night (she was chairman or some such thing for the dance). She walks up to the English teacher:

Girl: "So, what are you doing this Friday?"
Teacher: "I don't know, but whatever I do, it will be with my wife."

brings me back to high school🙂 I used to have all these teachers taht said teh funniest things. HOwever, now that i am in college, the jokes are awful. My favorite was when my physics teacher was looking for chalk in his desk. He then pulls out handcuffs, pauses, and goes "Oh, my wife and i were looking for these":Q

Another one: "I may have walked the line a few times, but i never sniffed!"

in high school, our in-house suspension teacher was the football coach, he had 2 rules

1. Dont bother Staff (that was his name, Mr. Stafford)
2. Breathe

Our big Greek calculus teacher in high school once got into a big argument in class with this really ignorant guy. He asked him, "You wanna take a swing at me?"

Dude backed down. Pretty crazy for a moment there, but we all knew who was gonna get ownz0red in that fight. 😀

my favorite history highschool teacher sayings:

1)Dirty potlicker
2)Bless his pointed little head
3)All is well in zion
4)All praise ronnie babe (in reference to ronald reagan) also many references to "reaganomics"
5)Multiple uses of the word "asinine"

Many more but this was 3 or 4 years ago and i've forgot most of em.

I'm probably going to misquote them, but I'll try to remember them:

Teaching is the only job where your customers are happy when you give them less.

Since you guys get all upset when I talk about differential equations, so from now on, I'm going to call them the "happy equations".

Working for SAS is the most fun you can have with your clothes on.

My favorite saying by one of my teachers, there has been before in our area performances of "Shakespeare in the buff", no joke. With that, on to the story...

Teacher: "...and we will hopefully go see Macbeth"
Me: "In the buff?"
Teacher: "No, comedies are usually preformed in the buff, tragedies involve too many swords."

Think about that one for a moment... Ouch! :Q

My high school physics teacher made a point of informing the class he had a fear of clowns, so I brought the book "It" to class one day, and stood it up facing him. About half-way through the class he just yelled at me "HEY! HEY! PUT THE BOOK DOWN!" I was cracking up.

My college Biology professor would crack some nonchalant jokes too. His favorite thing to say was
"This is a bit confusing, but don't worry if you don't get it, I teach this class again in the summer."

I like 1 & 2. Reminds me of an Asian math teacher who used to scream at us (class wasn't too bright)... "What's the pagician of the x axis?"

"Position" rhymed with 'magician'

I'm pretty sure he isn't teaching high school anymore after us, maybe even school at all? 🙂

Some cute chick in my class: "This class is stupid."
Teacher: "Yea? Well you're dumb."

My Criminal Investigations professor: "Working investigations is the most fun you can have with your clothes on."
