Alright, this is for my parents' computer. Basically, I'm home for breaks from college, etc. and the Geforce 3 Ti 200 is starting to reeeally drag. However, I really cant justify spending over $100, since I'm also going to get something much more expensive for my computer at school. Plus, this computer has maxed out with a 2400+ Athlon, so the CPU would be a bottleneck for the really fast cards out there.
Secondly, I really dont have the time or energy to do a re-format, and as I've heard, that sometimes becomes necessary if you install an ATI card on a PC that used to have a Geforce. Plus, I'm getting some 3D glasses in the mail, and these are intended for use with a Geforce card. Anyway, I've been looking around, and it seems that there's a seller on Ebay, with good feedback, selling several Geforce4 Ti 4400's for $95. This strikes me as pretty much the best deal I'm going to get, but I wanted to check. Any ideas?

Yep, it's the only sub-$100 card that will be noticeably faster than the gf3. Of course you could save the $100 for now and just drop down one resolution or quality level to get the framerate higher. 1024 down to 800x600 can make a huge difference.

too bad the fx5200 is such a dog, and that the gf4mx cards exist at all above $50. If ATI and nV would drop most of the sub-$100 parts life would be much less confusing for card buyers.

If thats a new Ti4400 then thats a good deal and will be a nice upgrade from the GF3 Ti200.
If it's used then a new Ti4200 for under $100 would be better.
Checkout Pricewatch.com, They have several listed for under $90 including shipping.

My Ti200 sucks cheesy bumhole nowadays, its easily the bottleneck in my gaming system and I cant wait to change it. 6.4GB bandwidth is just feeble for running the latest games at high quality at 1024*768, and I dont play below that resolution, it just doesnt look the same if you do. psycocommy i'd get that Ti4400, or if you can find a good one cheaper, a Ti4200, as it will overclock to at least the speed of a Ti4400, possibly closer to a Ti4600. :D:beer:
