Sorry to disappoint you but the OCZ I have can't be tested. It's in a Linux box and it's in a production environment. Given a chance to indulge myself and get another (or larger) for my PC, I'll definitely remember to run the test for you.

To me at the end of the day its just nice to see the technology moving forward.

Well put, and probably sums it up for most of us. Nothing wrong with having passion for your hobby.

I can't wait for my Hybrid Seagate XT to arrive, just because.

At least when you ask an opinion around here.....you get one!

Without a doubt absolute best value for a simple boot drive. Its the only SandForce out there at this price point and at an introductory offer 40 bucks less...eheheh

Of course, showing a comparable deal in retort is always appreciated.

I have seen the OWC drive. Seems like a great 40GB option, from what I've read.

FYI - it's not the only SF out there at the price point. The Corsair Force F40 has been at or around $100 since it was recently released, from different vendors (some with rebates/coupons).

@OP: i have several intel x25v. you get 37 GB usable space. between a clean install win7 on a raptor and the ssd, the boot times on both are so damn quick that i dont think that should be your main concern. now if you load up on huge core apps and need lots of random io, then you're better off getting the 80gb intel model because the x25 cuts in half everything. most general users, imo, don't need the random io that the intels are great at, so the ocz's in the 60-100gb range are quite attractive.

@flamenko: i have ocz vertex (indilinx) 120gb. lmk how to do that test and i'll post some numbers for you.
