what about breath of fire???
but chrono trigger too
breath of fire is made by capcom.
not the first one.
and on xenogears - i totally agree, xenogears is amazing.
ff4, ff6, ff7, ff tactics, chrono trigger, secret of mana, xenogears, vandal hearts, chrono cross, parasite eve, saga frontier 2
saga frontier 1 was ok but i never bought it so i didnt play it much
seiken densetsu 3 (the sequel to secret of mana - not released in the US - is available in an english rom for emulators) was ok, but i couldnt get into it, didnt hold my attention long enough, and somehow not paying $$ for a game makes me less motivated to play it, and sometimes it just fades out of my "things to do" list in my head.
ff3, the REAL ff3, not the one for snes, but the one for famicom, was pretty cool, but again, was playing on an emulator, and got stuck probably 15% into it, and never got back to it.
ff8 was ok but man, the story and characters blew. gameplay was decent though, had me hooked enough to play for 108 hours

(100 of every spell on every character! everyone at lvl 100! almost all cards...etc)
ff9 had a cool "atmosphere" to it. the environments were very cool, pulled me in for a while, but after some time i realized that i hated every single character in the game, and the story was boring me. seems like the ff games are hooking people on the minigames and whatnot (and graphics), and focusing less on story and characters. i could stare at a black and white 240x160 pixel screen for a game as long as it had a good story. f*ck graphics. music is a big thing to me though. most square games have good music, especially chrono cross, xenogears, xenosaga, and saga frontier 2. i probably have like 500-1000 mp3's of this stuff, i love it..
