I try to keep up best I can. I haven't yet run into a computer I couldn't fix with a combination of AVG, hijackthis, combofix, recovery console, and experience.

I'm not sure if it's on or off by default (or actually even if it's a feature in the current version I guess), but Opera does have the option of identifying itself as Internet Explorer when requesting objects.

LOL that's actually a very good point :) sorry I got so far off track.

As it stands, the forum rules forbid me to PM you since you are a moderator, unless you PM me, so my offer still stands on the whole honeypot and such idea.

I've tried about every one out there on a trial basis for months on end, and in the final deal, I prefer Spysweeper on my my 3 systems for over 3 years now, along with the McAfee Security Suite.

Those two are what I use and I've never had any problems.
Of course, I dont visit WAREZ sites and I get all my porn from file-sharing, so I suspect I might not be exposing my system to very much.

dont usually run anything now...nod32, firefox adblock or safari 3 with safari adblock (excellent open source plugin) works fine for me.

Best is not to let it get into your computer at the beginning.

I use firefox + plugin script blocker + plugin adblocker. I think the script blocker work best since it doesn't allow any weird applet to run, even utube video get block too and you can click and allow it. It does get annoying since at times you don't know what to allow to view what U want to view on the webpage.
