Best spyware removal program?

OMFG! This is the rigth forum for this post, finally! Everyone has been posting this stuff in the software forums.....

I have found Ad Aware and Spybot dont always find everything. Webroot Spy Sweeper seems to do the trick and find everything.

ad aware

As much as I used to like Ad Aware before, it no longer does the trick. It misses alot of spyware and leaves tons of registry entries etc... behind. I ran ad aware and removed everything from a PC, then ran Webroot, and Webroot found tons more that Ad Aware missed, and lots of registry entries and files.

I like the MS Antispyware Beta.

How is it werk? 😕

It has a typical, clean Microsoft interface with shades of appealing blue. It is based on GIANTSpyware which is supposedly the best anti-virus solution on the market.

adaware misses a ton. i use pestpatrol. works great.

Pest Patrol?? I dont' know about that one guys, picks up yes, fully removes.. not sure about that

I've been testing out Giant AntiSpyware right now and its pretty good. MS told me not to uninstall it until my subscription expires so won't be using MS ANTI SPYWARE BETA for a while.

at work, my IE computer got the typical search spyware junk. adaware didn't find everything. i had to do google hunting on my own, tried to remove a registry key with adaware (that it kept finding and saying it deleted), but the key kept popping up.... how annoying.

spyware is minimal with firefox. i haven't figured out which spyware removal program to use with it though.

I use a combination to rid my system of spyware and keep it from accumulating.

SpywareBlaster to harden the system.

SpywareGuard to detect realtime intrusion.

SpyBot Search & Destroy to further kill any existing spyware.

I use Mozilla/Firefox instead of IE.

And carefully examine what I install on my system.

PS:MS antispyware based on Giantspyware is now called Titan.

They were bought out by Computer Associates. I recently talked to a rep who said they've made a lot of changes that are about to be released - I don't know if that is good or bad...

I use Ad-aware and Spybot currently. Is there anything better that I should use? Thanks

Although you could run a dozen other spyware removers, there will probably be always one that can't be removed because there is no signature for it yet. So what I recommend is use Spybot S&D, Ad-Aware, then run HiJackThis and look at what is left to startup. If it looks clean, reboot, and run it again just to make sure. I find that spyware loads redundant processes that reload others as they are removed, and after reboot they're back in full force.
