Best speakers.

I can't find reviews for speakers anywhere. 🙁 i love reviews.
so im asking ppl here if they have had any experience with these speakers and what they think about them.
These are the speakers i'm considering. Please don't tell me it's worthless not getting some $200 speaker set. I don't want to spend that much.

Cambridge: FPS1600, FPS1800
Creative Labs: Inspire 4.1 4400
Logitech: Z540
Altec Lansing: ACS54

I tried to do a poll for this post. but couldn't figure out how it works. Maybe i got one without knowing it.

I will use the speakers for gaming and music. Mostly i care about gaming. The room ill be using them in is medium sized, 10'x10' approx. with open windows all around. Whatever relevance that has, im sure it will matter to someone.

Thank you.

I can only tell you that I personally own the Z-540's and I am very satisfied. They are plenty loud enough, sound quality is good, and for ~$70 I don't think you'll find a better set of speakers.

I've heard the z540's and they do sound good, but not as good as my z560's. If possible, get the z560's, they're only $160 at newegg including shipping, but if you dont want to spend that much, I totally understand. 😉

I just wanted to say I think the FPS 1800s sound excellent. For $100 at Best Buy (More like $80 online) these speakers can output some pretty good sound. The S/N ratio is excellent. These speakers can get quite loud for their size. The cabling and options included right out of the box are good as well. The bass is pretty powerful. The frequency response is also pretty decent. I can shake some walls with these guys if I really try. =)

I've just upgraded from ACS54W to Z560. Although the Z560's are the awesome (my roof starts shaking when I turn the bass 75%) the ACS54's are a great buy (I think that they're around $60.) I don't really know about the other ones, but I recommend the ACS54. Try doing a search for the speakers on Google

I have already searched on google and checked out 3dsoundsurge. thank you though.
here are the prices i have found for these speakers on pricewatch.

Cambridge: FPS1600($40), FPS1800($60)
Creative Labs: Inspire 4.1 4400($44)
Logitech: Z540($54)
Altec Lansing: ACS54($49)

these are approximate. what i found a few days ago.
they all look like they are a great deal. just have to figure out how much i want to spend.
though for the life of me the only one i haven't heard anything about is the Inspire 4.1 4400!

To be honest, I'm not crazy about any of speakers you have listed here. If I was forced to pick one, I'd probably opt of the Inspire 4.1 or Logitech. Mind you, it's not because I think they're great.

There is one online review of the 4400, I'll post the URL if I can find it again. It wasn't very good, but I've heard them and they're no worse than the others on the list.

I have the acs56 speakers, bigger sub and beefier amp than the acs54's. When watching dvd's i gotta turn the bass down to low, too much bass imo. Cant even imagine how much bass the z540's have.

You should try 3dsoundsurge.com, like someone else suggested. They have a huge amount of very high quality reviews on multimedia speaker systems.

Personally, my preferences would be:
1. Monsoon MM2000 (about 225)
2. Monsoon 505's (about 140?)
3. Klipsch Promedia 5.1 (400 - ouch - and I think I like the MM2000's better)
4. Logitec Z560's (about 150? - best bang for your buck)

Judging from your selection, I'm going to assume you're not really looking to spend a lot - so perhaps that doesn't help you out all that much. But these are the systems that I think are the best without going to a component setup.

like i said before, i've been to 3dsoundsurge
and i perfectly understand that at this price range none of the speakers are going to rattle windows on the other end of the house.
i don't want to spend lots of money on speakers right now. (or any time soon) i just want some 4.1 speakers that are inexpensive and aren't going to greatly suck. don't get me wrong i would love to have some 5.1 Klipsch speakers. but i don't have that money to spend on speakers. 🙂

from what i've read they're probably all the same with the FPS 1800 coming out slightly ahead.
the only one i don't know anything about is the Inspire 4.1 4400. i can't find any info on that anywhere. so if anyone knows of a review, Brain48 said he found one, or could tell me what they think of them, that would be great.

M200 by Swans should be one of the best multimedia speakers around...beating out every Klipsch, Logitech, Midiland or all the other crap computer speakers out there(crap by audiophile standards anyway). If you want even better sound, use proper hifi/HT speakers.

Before I purchased the Monsoon MM-2000 set I owned the Creative FPS 2000's. For the prices I've seen them at lately I think they'd be the best buy.
