The cheapest I could find in my country is this:

Thats about $5.

Does it matter that it's 1.5 meters long??? 1.5 meters + my headphones cable length is going to be very long.. will this long length cause loss of SQ or sound output of the heapdhones????

The longer the cable the more of an issue it will become. I'm not sure if there are any hard threshold distances that you wouldn't want to cross.

Over here, we have places like "Radioshack" that sell miscellaneous cables. Do you know if there would be any equivalent place near you? Something like this shouldn't cost much from a retail store and they may have a better selection of cable lengths.

Got my Audiophile 2496 today, and running the Creative 2.1 setup I can notice a slight improvement. Still waiting for cable for my headphones.

One thing though,,, I can't change the volume and fader settings in M-Audio Control Panel! I try muting and changing the volumes but nothing happens,, i tried it on the S/PDIF and it's the same.

Also, there is no socket to plug my CD-ROM.. so how can I use my CD-ROM as a CD player??

Not sure on the M-Audio control panel, but click on "enable digital CD audio for this CD-ROM device" in device manager for your CD drive.

Hi, I worked out the mixer controls. Didnt have the correct setup option.

Thanks, CD-ROM plays music now 🙂

One thing I did notice with the higher spec Audiophile 192 is the analog I/O are all 1/4" TRS!?!? WHY??

Have a look: http://www.maudio.co.uk/images/en/callouts/big/audiophile_192.jpg

Thats means for a RCA cable you would need two 1/4" TRS to RCA adaptors, and for headphones you would need a combination of two adaptors depending on the headphone jack you have!

Why didn't they just do RCA analog ports??? Or 3.5mm???

I don't know what the process of picking was, but I would assume that they geared their different cards towards whatever their primary target crowd for the specific card might use most often.
