Best solution for two displays?

What is the best GPU solution if I need to have two monitors on at all times and still want decent graphical performance?

Does Nvidia ever intend to allow multiple displays with SLI enabled?

Depends what you want to be doing on both those monitors

Sure it supports two displays....if you disable SLI functionality.

nV can't seem to figure out how to make dual displays work with SLI it seems.

A lot more info is needed before we can recommend you a video card.

Performance desired?
Monitor resolution?
Rest of system specs?

The most expensive card i'd recommend to anyone today is the 8800 GTS 512 MB.
Solid single card without the drawbacks of CF or SLI.

Of course, if you wait a little, we'll see the overclocked GTS 512 MB...err, sorry, the 9800 GTX, & pricing might be a bit better.

Performance desired: Higher performance than a single 8800 GTX
Monitor Resolution: 1920x1200
Rest of system, while I'm still deciding on a few things, will be: q9450, 8GB ddr2, choice of GPU will determine mobo, rest I don't think has bearing?

I really don't want to need to disable SLI every time I want to use a second display.

Get a 3870 X2, as of catalyst 8.1 you can enable Crossfire acceleration for both monitors, no need to turn it off before you can use both, and as of Catalyst 8.3 Hydravision should come in handy for what your doing.
