Guys,

I need help. What do you guys think is the best solutions for portable storage? Please consider price, reliability, speed, storage size and maybe other things. I don't have SCSI, so it'll be either USB or parallel.

The 4 solutions that I come up with are as follows:
1. Zip drive
2. USB hard drive (I don't know anything about that though)
3. External CDRW (not likely, coz I have Plextor internal already)
4. External hard drive
5. ??

Any other solutions? Please give suggestions... thanks!
Oh yeah, the main usage for it is probably for just moving data from office computer to home computer (like mp3s.. :) since I'm still on 56K)

TIA,

for ultamite speed you might try a removable hd bay. The other options are good also, but slower for transfers.

Zip USB. plug it in anywhere. very convienent. (even better if your office comp doesn't have a Zip drive)

I know there are 'tiny' USB 'hdd' which are the size of a finger.
it goes up to 1gig or so or more.

there are also Firewire HDD which are hella expensive too :)

Yeah, go with a USB Zip drive. Stick with 100 MB, unless you really need the 250 MB capacity. But whatever you decide, stay away from Castlewood's Orb!

Andylawcc,

Where do you get that info? Do you have any link?

Have any of you guys ever used/heard of BUSLink? Are they any good? Reliable? I just want to consider all the options before deciding. So far, Zip looks pretty good, but I prefer to have bigger storage capability w/ around the same price (~$200). Firewire stuff will definitely out... too costly :(

Thanks!
