Hello all,

We want to record everything someone does to accomplish something in our software so we can demo it later. For example, we may want to record how a vendor can create themselves and categorize themselves in our software. That way we can make the "video" available for download to help a vendor through the process.

What is some good software to accomplish this?

Thanks.

Download the free Windows Media Encoder. When you capture a video, one of the options is to capture user actions on an application.

Thanks. I am running through the products and testing them right now.

The window encoder does work and is indeed free. The problem I noticed is that when it is encoding, it slows the system to a crawl. This means that the recording is artifically lengthened because of the slowness caused by the encoder. Mind you I am running it from my laptop, but every other app has the same hardware.

The app that is "winning" right now is Camtasia from TechSmith. These guys have snagit as well.

They have a great lightweight player and their recorder is easy to use and pretty effective.
