best software dvd player?

what's the best software DVD player i can get?

I am using WinDVD 2.3 right now and... i'm not too impressed... I was trying to watch "Gladiator" and it was very choppy on my Tbird 900/GeForce2 setup.

Also, what's a good decoder card to buy... how much does it cost... and any idea where i can get it?

you should not get choppy DVD with your configureation.
maybe you should try to download latest geforce2 driver.

another good software dvd player is powerDVD 3.0

if you really want hardware decoder get Realmagic Hollywood plus. it should cost around $40. I seem people selling it for around $40 at forsale/trade forum.

I can't stand watching dvds on my comp after watching them on my apex and my 32" sony tv.

They look so bad on a monitor. It plays smoothly with windvd though.
