WARNING: Do not mix pepsi and pop rocks. It will cause your stomach to explode. That's what killed Mikey, the Life cereal kid.

In elementary school (about 1978) the school nurse actually made us bring home a form that had to be signed by our parents. I remember it detailed the dangers of pop rocks, especially after this urban legend sprung up. I guess he dumped about 5 packs of pop rocks then cannonballed a 16-oz pepsi.

Josta!

Candy: Gardners Peanut Butter Meltaways... I know Gardners is local(Central PA) , don't know how widespread they are sold though.

I used to get Dr. Pepper flavored gum when I was maybe 7 or so. It was red (obviously), & had juice in the middle. I loved that stuff. :) I was hooked on the gum before I ever got to try the drink. IIRC there was 7-up as well, & possibly A&W Root Beer. Good stuff, I'd love to be able to find it again.

Josta is good stuff!

As for candy, every kid in New Orleans knows you get Elmer's Heavenly Hash (Chocolate covered Almonds and Marshmallow) and Gold Brick (Pecans and Chocolate) in your Easter Basket! :)

pyonir: Of course I knew it was an urban legend. In fact, the snopes article nails what I stated, except for the letter. I presume our nurse had us bring home a letter stating they were NOT dangerous. Linkage
