Best socket A that money can buy? As in, price doesn't matter? I would say the XP3200.

Lower end A64s aren't really more expensive than the top of the line socket A chips. I know the motherboard would set you back some $$ too but still, I'd be thinking about a more substantial upgrade.

Edit: unless your just asking our opinion...In that case I would say XP 3200+

Get a decent cooling solution and overclock one of these.

Just a little bit, the board I have has only I think PC2700 ram in it.

Mobiles have a default of 133MHz FSB anyway, you can easily up that to 166MHz to match the RAM, and if you have a good motherboard, you can use higher CPU multipliers if you wish to further increase clock speed, as mobile CPU's are multiplier unlocked.

Get a mobile XP. Just make sure your board's BIOS support cpu multiplier changes.
