What's the best AMD socket 939 cpu to be had for under $200.00 currently?

3200+ venice is your best bet or the 3500+ venice which just around $200.

but if you can find an opteron that would be even better

the 144 or 146 are both under $200 assuming you can find it.

If you live near Fry's electronics, they've had the venice 3500 retail boxed with ecs via kt890 board for $199. A great deal, if you can get it.

Opteron 144 ftw. 1.47v at 2.8ghz. they are pricy Due to amd's axehandling of thier marketing situation, ie sellinf server grade procs that oc like mad for sub entry level cpu prices.
