i havent been up to date on athlon 64s since i was too lazy to upgrade from my xp-m, but im finally taking the plunge and listed my mobo/cpu/hsf for sale as some of you may have seen already in the fs section.
so heres my question: whats the best/cheapest socket 754 cpu that has the highest chance of reaching 2.5-2.6 ghz on relatively quiet air cooling? i'll upgrade to one of those new crazy lookin thermalrights (xp90 or 120) too if necessary.
i already have the dfi lanparty nf3, which is why im choosing 754 over the 939. oh and for reference on noise, i was running my xpm with a vantec tornado at around 3k rpm.
oh and i have mushkin level II v2 ram pc3200.
