Best Socket 478 Desktop CPU?

What is the best socket 478 CPU right now? I know the Core Duo CPUs are out for notebooks but can they be made to work in desktops?

Basically I got a complete PC for free minus the CPU. Because the PC was free I can spend a more on the CPU.

Core Duos for laptops use Socket M. Core 2 Duos use Socket M (in laptops) or Socket T (on desktops).

Socket 478 was home to Pentium 4s and Celerons, nothing else. The fastest Pentium 4s on Socket 478 were 3.4 GHz (both Northwood and Prescott hit this, I would probably look for a Northwood for the lower power use/heat generation).

Newegg has Socket 478 Core Duos for sale...?? Four of them actually.

Is this a different socket 478 than the desktops use? I know in the AMD world you could use AthlonXP Mobil CPUs in desktops.

Click.

Newegg lists them as Socket 478, but they aren't. They use a different and completely incompatible socket.
