I run my IT dept. and I couldnt care less what my users use. For IOS and android activesynch is the same. For BBs I have my BES. I give my users whatever they want and dont really care what they choose.
Well, you don't support his mom's company do you?

At my workplace only BB and iOS are supported. Android is not. My workplace has hundreds of smartphones supported.

What exactly do real estate agents do on their smartphones?

Google map? Zillow app..etc,? Unless there are specific phones geared towards real estate agents I would think an "iphone 4" would be fine.

INSANE BATTERY life and can do everything she needs.

Since she already has a blackberry maybe she should look at a PlayBook and use the bridge feature. They can be found for < $200

For what its worth, call quality seems to be better on BB than other smartphones. I can't comment on all android phones but the ones I've tried and my Evo were nothing special to godawful (looking at you Evo). My iPhone is a bit better than any android phone I've heard personally, but it pales in comparison to even a cheap BB. Just something to consider.

The only smartphone with INSANE BATTERY life that I've used is the Razr Maxx. My iPhone 4 is down to ~10% when I go to bed, and my Nexus was the same. The Maxx easily lasted me two full days with the same amount of usage.

A lady I work with uses an Android tablet for her real estate side business. She said when it comes to inspections she can manipulate pdf documents and that also goes for any mortgage paperwork too.

But i will say this, since she knows that I have an Android phone, she does ask me a lot of questions. I'm not all that familiar with iOS, but I'm sure it can do the same. Just wanted to provide a real life example for ya.

Good luck!

I liked spammers more when the were upfront and offered free iPads rather than just neffed.

For productivity you'll want the most flexible sharing options and a large screen, which means android. iOS is a joke in both of these regards and until WP gets a decent app offering it is a derelict platform.
