BEST slot 1 motherboard?

Whats the best motherboard for a slot 1 processor, without a via chipset. I will be using an 866p3 and scsi 160, and am looking for top speed and solid stability. (oh yeah, and won't be overclocking)

ASUS P3B-F (BX based) or the P3V4X (VIA Apollo Pro 133A based). There's nothing wrong with VIA chipsets.

another vote for P3B-F. I've had this board along with PIII-500@750MHz. I can go for months without a reboot. Right now I'm cracling RC5 24/7.

I will recommend the Asus P3B-F too. Im running my pIII 450 at 558 for several months now . No stability problems whatsover. My brother has the same board too with flip chip 700 on an Asus slotket. His running it at 931 with great success .

I would have to say the MicroStar BXMaster. I have the P3V4X, BE6 II, BH6, and the CUV4X, but none of them is as fast as the BXMaster.

Why bother with the HighPoint 100 controller if you are going to run a SCSI setup? All it will do is use up 2 additional IRQ's and if you are using the IDE drives as backup the extra speed is really unnecessary.

I went with the Soyo 6ba +100. Its got all the features that I'm looking for with the bx chipset, good reputation, ata100, and the isa slot. Its a bit of a risk because its new but its up and running and feels really good. If I have any problems with this I'm going with the P3B-F, and may even get it as an emergency backup now. I currently have been using a VT6X4 and a P3V4X with poor reliability success, so I'm finished with via for slot1's. This soyo board seems noticably faster than them (ram speed), I'm pretty impressed so far after 1.5 days, though thats not much time. The faster ata will come into play when this becomes a handme-down to my other comps, which are all ide. Thanks all.

p3b-f or cusl2. avoid the via chipset and run ME on the 815 chipset for easiest results
