BEST SLI motherboard

they're still very new at this point so there aren't many models to choose from. however, looking at most reviews, the asus seems to be the most favorable. it even has it's own thread on the motherboard forum.

ASUS makes the most stable boards in general.

I'll wait for the next PCB Rev before I pick one up though. By that time, the price gouging should be a non issue also.

that's why I actually used the word "out" and not "exist on paper" 😛

My best guess? At least a couple months. I have this Neo2 Plat to tie me over till then. At that time, I'll either sell it, or put it in a cruncher.

That depends on how well it behaves between now and then.

So which board out of the four:

ASUS A8N SLI
Gigabyte K8NXP-SLI
MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum SLI
MSI K8N Diamond SLI

is the best one to get until something better comes out. In this manner, I can buy the PCI-e 6800GT .

Which graphics card would be best? ASUS?

IMO, the ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe. If you can wait until the end of the month, you may be able to snap up the best motherboard available, hands down -- the DFI LANPARTY nF4 SLi-D or DR. Quantities will be limited; the "real" release date (not the paper release, which was this week) will be at the end of January or, more likely, at the beginning to middle of Feburary; sellers might start gouging prices to compensate for the insane demand. ABIT is rumored to have their offering of the nF4 SLI-ready motherboard, but they have not even made a formal announcement, so you can expect that to be quite far off in the indeterminate (sp.?) future.

There's my opinion. Good luck with whatever choice you make.

the best mobo with sli right now is A8N-SLI/DELUXE with the Nforce4 chipset, but if you are looking for a new mobo, you should wait for ATI's new Chipset, yet ATI has not said when it's going to be released, so you can choose to either have patience or buy the A8N-SLI/DELUXE now.. that's completly up to you

my regards
Philip

If you can wait a little longer I would wait for the DFI offering they look very good. But if not the Asus board is great too just probably not as good of an OCer.

I hear the DFI is a better overclocker. I have a Asus a8n-SLI Deluxe and don't have an issue over clocking it.

Wait for the reviews and hit up Toms, Anands, Firing Squad and HardOCP.

Or buy them both, test them out, and send back the looser.
