Having had surgery (L2~3 & L3~4): ibuprophen {advil} has anti inflammatory properties. My doctor said I should double the normal dosage when/if needed; and that does help.
Stay Stretched: especially your hamstrings.
Find a sleeping position which keeps your back as straight as possible: a body pillow can help. Mattresses also make a big difference, but that's a major cost.
Try a kneeling chair. Not everyone likes them, though. Pre surgery, I used a standing desk. Basically a platform which raises your work surface a couple feet.
