We will have a big group of people skiing and are looking for bigger hills than what ohio and southern MI can offer. What is the best ski resort, long slopes, good powder, short lines, cheap lift tickets...... mostly just good challenging skiing with a long vertical and several slopes. There will be anywhere from beginners to experts going and want to have a good long weekend. What is the best around, NY, WV, SE OH......... Any skiiers please let me know.

All within 8 hour plane flights. Seriously, can you even call it skiing in the midwest?

I have been snowboarding for about 3-4 years (when snow prevails which is not very oftern), so I think a trip out east would kill me! Eventually it will be worth my time, but I bet I have only been about 15-20 days of skiing. Biggest hill I have actually snowboarded on was Blue Mountain in Canada, I love that place!

bump for some more opinions, its looking like snowshoe, but I think I will have to go earlier in the year to avoid the rain that I have read about in reviews. Does snowshoe have good powder, and what are the best dates to go?

Another vote for Seven Springs. (About 1 hour east of Pittsburgh right off I-76).
