Best Skateboard Brand and Store/E-Tailer to Buy From

First of all, when I started skateboarding like 5 months ago, I only did so for about a month with a shitty board.

But now that summer's here and school's over, I want to get back into skateboarding now.

I'm very new to skateboarding and I'd appreciate some suggestions on what to buy and where to buy it (especially).

EDIT: By the way, I'm looking for a board with good/exceptional air and pop.

That was where we all got our boards back in the mid 90's. Nice to see CCS is still around. 😀

If you're just starting out, look into their "blank" boards. They're good quality, but cheaper than a brand name, so you don't have to worry if you tear it up.
 
Just go with a package from CCS. I've ordered a decent amount of stuff from there and have never had a problem, and thought the prices were reasonable.

As for a brand, it really doesn't matter. I've had Element boards, Darkstar, and a plain CCS blank deck and they were all good. Look at the board size though -- a width of 7.5" is kinda standard I think, so go a bit smaller if you have smaller feet/weigh less or higher if you're a bigger guy. An 8" board is pretty big IMO.

My friend just got a new deck from ccs. He got an 'Almost' deck - don't know the model, but he says its the lightest and best popping board hes ever had. Lets see how long it takes him to break it.
 
CCS is pretty good, their prices are actually pretty competitive if you go with their complete setups. I usually buy from blankdecks.com, they're pretty good if you only need a few parts, but if you're ordering a full setup it might be about even with other e-tailers.
