I vote for Dart Maul. He seemed very evil and martially capable. Maybe it was because it was the first time they could make it look cool, but I thought he subtle use of the force (force push and opening the door) really helped, it seemed very natural for him. The battle was 100x better than anything seen before.
 
Well, let's see:

Anakin: Weak-minded pubescent pansy.
Darth Vader: Slow. HTF did he kill anything without choking it?
Darth Sidious/Emperor (He was once an apprentice): Old, crabby, faster than Darth Vader but still slow. Once again, HTF did he kill anyone?
Darth Maul: Hardcore, extremely fast, used a double bladed "staff" saber.

Darth Maul FTW!
 
I don't know... Omarosa? I mean... there has to be a reason why they keep bringing her back for all of the Apprentice reunion specials!

She definitely plays with the Dark side of the force, though!

IMO, it was Vader. Only Palpatine/Vader combo restored the Sith to power. Darth Maul for all his tricks died without much to show for it.

 
Obviously if you are talking about all time then it would have to be Sidious. He was the guy that sprung the 1000 year old plan to take over the galaxy. He was more powerful than maul. If you read the books you would know that he beat Maul.

Maul was a warrior, but there was a lot about the force that he didnt know. Sidious has lightning, the power of foresight, and is excellent with a lightsaber.

The movie couldnt really portray how good he was with a lightsaber. They actually had to do a hurry reshoot of the Mace/Sidious battle.

The original had anakin by palatines side. If you look closely after Sidious jumps over the table and attacks the 4 jedi, pause the screen and you'll see he's holding anakins saber (the hilt).

Palpatine orginally was suppose to be the fastest sword in the galaxy, thats how the books portrayed him. Darth Maul wasnt that great, he had flashy moves. He got beat by a padawan learner.

Except we're talking about 'apprentices' here, and technically Revan was never a Sith apprentice, he assumed command straight up from the start 😛 😉 (although if we were talking about most awesomely badass jedi/sith ever, Revan would have to be near the top, would be on top of my list that's for sure)

he wasn't even a jedi, just an extremely competent alien warrior whose abilities were extremely enhanced by the most advanced droid body/parts in existence


Darth Maul is a decent choice for several reasons:
1. double bladed saber as a first for the movies was really cool, and he certainly emphasized a brute strength approach as opposed to a namby pamby abuser of force powers.
2. very ninjaesque, always a plus 😀
3. lack of dialog meant Lucas couldn't screw up his character as much through poor writing 😉

Also, knocking Darth Maul for losing to a 'padawan' isn't really fair because that padawan happened to be Obi-Wan who really turned out to be one of the greatest jedi ever...heck, according to the canon, there were several jedi masters who died at the hands of an otherwise 'lesser' character (such as Grievous who was neither sith nor jedi...)
 
the actor for Darth Maul was some English guy with a lot
of experience in kickboxing etc. yeah those were some
good fight scenes.
 
Darth Bushidious will kill you with bushisms. Even deadlier than Gen. Grievous with four double bladed lightsabers. :Q
