Best single slot card around $150?

Basically I'm looking to replace my 7900GTS. I am fine with the performance but it's a dual slot card.

I'm trying to do an even swap after selling my 7900GTS but right now there seems to be a huge gap in graphics cards. There are 8800s ($300+) and 8600s ($100). Is there anything out there that fits my needs.

I see newegg is still selling 7950GTs, should I go with that?

I've never heard of a 7900GTS, do you mean 7900GT or 7900GS? If you have a 7900GT, then its barely an upgrade to a 7950GT.

And I'm not looking for an upgrade, just similar performance in smaller form factor (and hopefully just as quiet as the 7900 GTX).

You'll lose some performance going that route, but it does look to be one of the fastest options for a single slot card.

btw - looks like the 7950GT is around $215, which is a bit high.

Good price on that card, esp after rebate. Looks like a good deal - the only con is the 256MB of RAM (the NewEgg card has 512). The mWave card looks like the best deal in that price range.
