it's super duper expensive :D

i'm not a professional, simply a student who wants to work AND play games.

my mentor has insane setups for me to use at the school.

Yes if you arent doing it for a living then the GTX 570 is your best bet, in gaming the Quadro 4000 is worse then an HD 5770  BUT in rendering and such it would outperform a GTX 580.

LOLS one last question before i decide on the 570 for sure,
for some reason the GPU chart on anandtech shows the 560 performing a lot faster than the 570 in civilization V

thats a problem I AM HARDCORE AT CIV 5

can someone explain why? cuz i just went O.O

driver issue im sure. Probably fixed when the 560 came out, so it should run better on the 570.

will things like 3ds max have support for AMD cards? thats the main reason im holding back on AMD because i think i remember someone telling me that theres CUDA support.

And you are absolutely right in doing so.

Last I checked Max didn't offer native CUDA support. VRay offers CUDA support for rendering (questionable quality and I'm being kind to avoid an OT discussion) but it's a separate purchase ~$1300USD.

See post 21, it has a quote from the website saying there are certain things that can be GPU accelerated via CUDA

iray will set you back $1300USD annually as part of an Autodesk subscription package. And again, quality is no where near that of CPU rendering. Also, once you crank up the eye candy, it's not a lot faster.

That's just my opinion on GPU rendering. I'm sure you'll find some who think it's marvelous and can render photo realistic in real time. Let's just say you won't see the next Avatar type feature presentation GPU rendered any time soon. ;)

Just go ahead and ask here, no need to start another thread if you don't have to, you were talking about 2 displays. So nothing wrong with talking about them in the same thread.

And enjoy the 570.
