I used Foxit PDF Creator a while ago and it was great. From what I've read, Foxit has went a bit downhill with the software and toolbars or something. Actually it seems like their PDF Creator by itself doesn't exist anymore.

I have tried PDFCreator and it's alright. Sometimes though it creates a final blank page for no reason. Like the preview shows 3 pages but it ends up 4. I think the only thing it tried to install was a Bing toolbar which I could decline.

PDF-Xchange might be okay but it looks like even the Lite version has a watermark.

I've heard CutePDF is a bit aggressive with installing some toolbar even when you ask it not to? :\

Is that pretty much all of them? I'd prefer something free or open source, but if it was really what I wanted I'd pay for it. I'm looking for something light and don't need any kind of editing features, or a GUI at all. Just want to click Print -> Ok -> Save As dialog -> done.

This link has some short reviews:

I was making this thread though thinking maybe there is a "go-to" one everyone uses without complaints, like Foxit in the past.

If you're just looking for a virtual printer and not a real editing suite, CutePDF is what we use at work. Installed via Ninite and theres no crapware. The only place it really chokes is if you open a pdf and reprint just a few pages to a new PDF, the filesize starts to bloat considerably for some reason.

Later versions of Microsoft Word also let you directly Save As to PDF.
