best silent cooling option

Im going for the quietest set up. which of these to would be best? the zalman 9500 or the SI-120 with a nexus? they are close to the same price i dont need my cpu frezzing but some what cooler then stock.

SI-120 with Yate Loon, in the in line resistor and Nexus sticker are not worth 2x the price of an otherwise identical fan.

Out of stock on the Yates at Jab for several months now. Not even on their site anymore. Have them at Tekgems for $11 single units...2or more $7....5 or more $5. Nexus are $16 at Jab. As I have read, Nexus "cherry picks" their Yates for least amt of bearing/motor hum/noise. I have never used a Yate (besides my rebadged Nexus's), but imo I would go as operandi said on the HS (or xp120) and get a Nexus. Thats just me. With the right case airflow setup & install, the Nexus @~1000rpm is more than adequate to cool any oc'd CPU paired with the SI/XP 120. You can get the HS and fan from the same etailer as well.

i plan to order form svc sense newegg doesnt carry nexus as far as i am aware. i will also be getting ceramque i dont want to deal with as5 glueing my HS down.

I have never experienced this what-so-ever w/ AS5. Its sticky, but with a little shift to the right and then the left it comes off no problemo. But go ceramique if you like. Their performance differences are miniscule at best and I hear ceramique is a easier spreader if thats how you apply your TIM.

Yes---that was my first experience with AS5.....damn sticky...lol....

You won`t be disappointed with the XP120 or literally any 120mm fan you choose....

Get a Scythe Ninja, you can run it passively with an undervolted case exhaust fan such as a Nexus, and still get fairly good cooling.

i could look into that but i would like a fan on my hs thats just me im wierd

You can still mount a fan of your choice on the Ninja. Preferably a Nexus or Yate Loon.
