I have one on it right now that's got a matte finish, but it gets very pixel-splotchy with red and green. I'm sure you all have seen it with matte protectors... anyway, what's good and doesn't hurt image quality (colors, contrast, etc.)?

Go naked. Its the only way to enjoy the beautiful screen. While you should still be careful with it, the screen is made of gorilla glass so it can take quite a beating.

It seems to me that either you should go naked, or just get a normal glossy one.

I've yet to see a matte/anti-glare one that doesn't cause lots of splotchiness.

in terms of glossy/normal screen protectors, I think skinomi is pretty good though. Unlike the super-tough ones, it most closely resembles the original screen in that it's hard to tell it's there.

IT will get scratched. My iPod Touch and Droid got scratched after ~2 months in my pocket without a protector. Gorilla glass is strong, but it isn't 100% scratchproof. No I don't put my keys in the same pocket.

Screen protector is fine. At least those are replaceable for cheap if they get scratched up. InvisibleShield does not work as well as claimed. I feel like it gets scratch marks. Not microscratches, but large scratches.

Sigh... 10 minutes after I put it on and I already hate it. Damn plastic just looks soft, with all its accompanying ripples and orange peel-look. Plus, the fine colour splotching is even worse than it was with the old matte protector. Hopefully it gets better tomorrow.

You really don't need it on those phones. The concern is dropping/crushing the thing. SPs do add a little relief, I suppose, but there are plenty of videos of people testing screens using Gorilla Glass.

Naked is fun till the anti smudge starts wearing off like mine is. Always taken immaculate care of, its developing it in common swipe areas.

Look, it's not rocket science.

Gorilla glass will scratch, so if you can't live with that then get a screen protector.

Now what kind of protector?

Doesn't matter what brand as long it's a dry application protector. The wet application protectors look like shit. Not sure why people still buy those.

I'm happy with my zaggs, and as monkey said BB will put it on for you and they're much more practiced at it than me

Had no idea. What's a good dry one?

I did a mini thread/review on dry vs wet here.

http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-rev...-cling-vs-wet-adhesion-screen-protectors.html

For a dry adhesive (from my experience) brand doesn't matter as much as it does for a wet application protector.

I'm happy with my zaggs, and as monkey said BB will put it on for you and they're much more practiced at it than me

Honestly, unless Zagg has updated their line, its nothing compared to the dry adhesive protectors.

I recommend ANY SGP Steinheil. They are easily the best I've used. I've had one on my Droid X since July of last year, and it is still holding up strong. There's a little bit of dust under it, but that's just from my bad application skills. They are easily the best.

I've used them on my Droid Incredible and Droid X, and they have been perfect.

Zagg is terrible. It's the worst out of all of them. Bodyguardz is much better, and many other brands have far less of an orange peel effect. I used Zagg on my iPod Touch and my Nokia N82. I used Bodyguardz on my gf's phone and my Milestone. My friend used a diff one for his iPhone 3GS, and its slightly better than Bodyguardz. Forgot the name though.

anyway, it's all better than Zagg

And this crap scratches too.

BoxWave ClearTouch is what I've been using for a long time on many devices. Kind of pricey, but they are good.

Realook is prob the best IMO. I personally go naked. People say it's asking for scratches but I have 0 scratches after 6 months of use and I just keep it in my pocket.

Its disgusting to have a scratched up screen.

My screen protector is invisible anyway, I always forget that I even have one on.

That's the same with mine. The only reason why I would notice is the fact that I have a little bit of dust under it in 2 spots. Other than that, you cannot tell if you're looking at the device.

How is it my devices don't have scratched screens? I've dropped my Storm face down onto concrete, gravel etc and nothing. My G1 I've not dropped onto anything serious, but my wife drops her 3GS like it's a competition and still nothing.
