i used to like farscape until it turned into a big sex romp with sluts everywhere. I mean, sluts are great, but come on there's enough of that on non sci-fi stuff... of course I stopped watching it, so I don't know if it stayed on that path...

Are you watching the same Farscape that I am? Sex romp? Where? How did I miss that?

i don't remember it was so long ago. but I remember watching this show from the very beginning, and I was really into it. then after a few weeks (months?) they were always finding ways to involve naked and/or slutty chicks that did nothing other than present an excuse to show naked and/or slutty chicks on the screen. am I wrong? i swear i remember this and I was really upset so I quit watching.

You were probably watching Lexx, which does have nekkid chicks. (See the "Boomtown" episode, uncut!)

Lexx, if you can get past the silliness, shows flashes of brilliance in the storytelling.

I remember Lexx. I don't care HOW interesting the story is. Just like I don't care HOW sometimes marylin manson says things that make sense. it's still a retarted way to get your message across. 😛

but i coulda sworn it was farscape, I remember the blue chick being there... well I guess i'll pick it up again and see for myself.

in babylon 5, Ivanova had a sexual attraction to talia right? It wasn't just friendly, they were gonna do it right?!

edit: cuz I remembered talias name
In season 2 (maybe 1), Talia's repeated presence in Ivanova's quarters in the morning before Ivanova's shift started signified they had become lovers.

AWESOME, I KNEW IT! My wife doesn't believe me. they made a cute couple. heh
😀

Possibly, but the way it was written / shown they may also have just been roomates -- it was probably intentionally kept ambiguous to not outrage the easily offended.

There was something there, but they never went anywhere with it. In a later episode, as part of a ritual each member of the senior staff had to admit to something personal to Delenn, and Ivanova admitted that she "loved" Talia.
Hmmm, I'd forgotten that, maybe it was less hidden than I thought 🙂

I got the impression more that they were not lovers per se, but that Ivanova was struggling internally with her feelings on the matter, not wanting to admit that such a thing was possible. Remember that Ivanova hated the Psy Corps more than just about anything.

Well, in Farscape, both Xen and Chiana's characters were highly sexual in markedly different ways. But I don't recall there ever being anything "inappropriate" (by Puritan standards) or anything that detracted from the storyline.

Aliens?

Dang... Red Dwarf and Aliens are a tie.

dude, I thought I was the only one...GO RED DWARF!

I also liked the new Sci-Fi Dune miniseries...

Children of Dune was great. However, the first one, Dune, sucked. Why? Because they borrowed heavily from the old Batman TV series, in that whenever they showed the villainous Harkonen, they had to show them in red light, with the cameras tilted at odd angles. Very campy and very stupid.

Firefly!
Yes, great show if you watch the DVDs instead of how Fox destroyed it on TV, showing it out of sequence and skipping both the pilot and a couple of other episodes.

Red Dwarf was laugh out loud funny in spots and almost always amusing.

B5 season 1 was utter garbage, season 5 was almost as bad. This series seemed to keep building you up and buliding you up but never fulfilled it. Talia Winters🙁

Voyager is the worst of the star treks, some episodes are PAINFUL to watch, literally. ex. Bride of chaotica and that fair haven episode...among several more. This is the only series where i have skipped episodes when i didn't want to be tortured ( i go back eventually to watch them though.🙁)

TNG, by far the best.

DS9, great also once u get past the 1-2 seasons.

Currently watching X Files DVD box set. So far it's good.

Stargate is EXCELLENT, also. Prob around as good as DS9.

Babylon 5, certainly. Though more for the story than extras.
Farscape, despite it being one of the more expensive to put together. Got extras, extras and then some
Red Dwarf, most definetly! Interesting, twisted, original, hilarious, and a good camp quotent. Though that's due to a modest production budget. Ungodly expensive (Stupid BBC production) but well worth it
Trek: TNG. Probably the best of the treks.
