Best RTS?

Medieval: Total War is great fun. It's a RTS/TBS hybrid (the battles are in real-time.) It makes a nice change from the dreadful build/rush/conquer/repeat nature of basically every other RTS out there.
 
I loved Command and Conquer Red Alert, its about 7 or 8 years old. Single player I played.

Then I played Command and Conquer Red Alert 2 which came out about 4 years ago, and its multiplayer was cool, but single player was ok.

Right now, I would recommend you get Rise of Nations or Age of Mythology. Have you ever played Stronghold?? its a very addictive game, its part simulation, part strategy where you must make sure your people are fed and you defend your keep against enemies, real fun.

I don't know a lot about CNC Generals, I've heard its not that good, very dissapointing.

generals was very pretty at the time it came out, for an RTS. I enjoy short matches with the AI on occasion, but I hear that everyone plays US online, which probably means its still overpowered 😛 I've heard nothing can stop 2 aurora bombers. nothing.
 
WarCraft II & III, and StarCraft.
Those are the only RTS's that have really hooked me.
I've tried the Age/RoN series but always found them extremely boring, TA was good, but IMO the unlimited resources thing sctrews up multiplayer, not to mention moho metal makers.
 
Whoever said General is not good doesn't know what he/she is talking about! It's pretty damn good! I play it all the time. And yes, it's true that nothing can stop the 2 aurora bombers....but who cares!

Thanks all 😀 -- I've played out starcraft/red alert/red alert 2/wcIII and FT

Too many to remember I guess...but I can't get enough of em 🙂

Ill be trying out RoN as soon as i get my new puter put together
