Best RTS that can be compared to Starcraft

I like Rise of Nations. But if you're looking for "futuristic", remember the new Star Wars RTS is due to release at the end of this year.

Red Alert 2 with the Yuri's Revenge expansion is my all-time favorite RTS
Emperor: Battle for Dune is also a lot of fun to play. The more you play it, the better it gets.
Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds is fun for a while

One space RTS game I haven't seen mentioned here is Homeworld 2. It is very challenging to pass the single player levels, and I found it a lot of fun.. The graphics are beautiful as well. Good luck with it if you are do get the game. I gave up after like level 7 or 8. It just got really hard. But it is still a lot of fun to play and look at.

Another Total Annihilation fan and the first person that posted about it has me wanting it again. Now I'm going to have to get the thing off eBay. Btw m3rcury you might want to keep your eyes peeled for Supreme Commander. It's being worked on by Chris Taylor and it's along similar lines of Total Annihilation but there's a lot more to it. Check out the website for more info as it becomes available.

rise of nations was good.
ra2 + yuri is a blast.
Warhammer 40k is really good.
homeworld cataclysm was a lot better than HW2.
I didn't like warcraft 3 very much...tho I can see the appeal.

starcraft is godlike. In most other rts's I find myself constantly wishing I had psi storm... psi storm(or the lack thereof) ruined rome: total war for me I think.
