Best router for range?

My sister moved into apartment close to my moms and wants to share a connection. I ain't sure they will be able to do this since she is at least 100ft from my mom and there are at least 3-4 walls in between them. I seen a belkin at Wal-Mart than claims up to 700ft of range which I am sure is probably not accurate and if it is it's probably outdoors. They already have Dlink PCI wireless cards they are hoping to use.

Whats the best router for this if any? Or setup for this?

I doubt that you would find a Magic Entry Level Router that would o 100? and 3 walls out of the Box.

The best Method to Extend Wireless Coverage depends heavily on the Specific Environment.

In general, the best Method involves using multiple units connected with wire to the source.

Or WDS ( Wireless Network - Configuration Modes. ) system using Hardware of one Brand across the board.

Wired connected Access Point is the best since WDS cute the "Speed" into half past the second unit.

My question is should I get the rangemax card for it aswell thats another $80? I think I will buy it(or them) and if it doesn't work just tell them they are SOOL. I've read reviews that covers ppl whole house and even gets signals at neighbors houses.

If you want to take advantage of the full capacity of the rangeMax you need the matching card.

For the long run take into consideration that the RangeMax might be the end of the line. I.e. when the final 802.11n would be out the RangeMax probably would not be upgradeable.

I.e. as far as they are concern it has nothing to do with 802.11n.

That does not mean that it does Not work well. It means that when the real 802.11n would come out you would be stuck with $200 (Router and Card) that is EOL.

heh well I myself might be. But this is for my sister and mom who know nothing about this type of stuff I just know some. They would be happy with 802.11g for a long time to come. They don't do any file sharing just internet which 802.11g is plenty fast enough for the speed they have and will have for some time to come.

Thx for all the info I think I will give that rangemax and shot and leave it up to them if they want to get the card aswell. But it's possible where my sisters G card might not get that good of a signal/speed by just getting the rangemax card could increase both?
