RUSH! recognize!

I have seen metallica and ac/dc live and rush beats them both out of the water. For starters I walked out nearly deaf after every show (I would have been smart to use earplugs). For another they are still around (touring next year) unlike ded zep and dead dead. Having the greatest rock drummer alive (no contest) puts them up there. And on top of all this, they are great human beings who listen to their hearts and be who they want to be and not some crazy washed-up american pop stars. They have more integrity than any rock band ever, listen to "spirit of radio" and "limelight" to understand what they think of the music industry.

Rush sets the example, sadly, no one follows.
 
pearl jam, metallica, even floyd to a certain extent dont exactly fit into the 'conventional' rock n roll band definition, all great bands, well (besides metallica since 3-4 years)

I would have mentioned them but I have gotten flamed so many times on this forum by people who can't comprehend the impact of that band I found it useless to even try voicing my opinion.

Hmm, I can't pick one. In no particular order: Led Zeppelin. Pink Floyd, Beatles, Rolling Stones, The Who, and Aerosmith.
 
Zep, followed by Pink Floyd.

I just got the Led Zep DVD set for Christmas. Brought back memories from the '70s. Zep was and is the greatest band ever. IMHO, of course.

for pure rock id say ac/dc, all rock, all the time

but any poll with led zeppeling in it means i vote for led zeppelin....
