C&D just did a review of the F430, the new 911 Turbo, and a Z06. The Ferrari was the slowest of the three, but still won out because of its overall package compared to the others.

But the Z06 was still deemed the "best sports car value in the world. Period." Or something like that.

Really? Did C&D not take price into account for their final decision? I mean, I like Ferrari and all, but with the cheap one $40k more than the Porsche and over $100k more than the Z06, as well as being the least reliable car out of the three by a long shot and slowest, why go with the Ferrari?

They mentioned price, but based the overall decision--which was for the best sports car of the three--on the driving experience, which they say was just better in the ferrari. I think the article said something to the effect of: if we had the money, even with it costing $XX more than the corvette, we'd still take the F430.

They also mentioned how surprisingly adept the car is as a daily driver. Not sure if that was implying increased reliability in addition to its civil everyday road manners, though.

No, they didn't. IIRC the time margins were fairly small between the cars, and everyone seemed to agree the Ferrari was by far the best car to drive.

when comparing cars in that category...IMO they put very little weight on price and reliability because thats not what ferraris and porsches are made for...they are made for the ultimate driving experience and the corvette cannot compare to the feeling a ferrari or porsche gives you behind the wheel (mainly the ferrari). but hands down, the corvette is best bang for the buck and that is obvious.
