im only 17, and my parents are forcing me to get a job, i quit mcdonalds b/c of sports, but now i only play one sport, and that is in the spring. Most of the jobs are taken now with the college kids coming back. are there any sites dedicated to helping TEENAGERS get a job?

im gunna try some landscapers, maybe go try knukonceptz.com (speaker wire, power wire) ive tried some restraunts, omax, bestbuy, local stores, a ton of places, not many are calling me, some arent hiring, just accepting applications.

i think we need to start a teenage job resource thread. lets try to get some going.

Landscaping is good. If you live in a wealthy area, there is a huge demand for landscapers during the summer, of which, many are willing to hire kids your age. I have a friend who worked two jobs, one was landscaping the morning (7am - 2 or 3 pm) and the pay was good $8.xx/hour. However, the downside is landscaping is a lot of physical work.

I'm 16 also (17 this month), and I've been working in a local bakery which has worked out. Decent pay $7.50, plenty of attractive girls, and free food (mmmmm).

job market sucks balzz right now. i couldn't find a job to save my butt. i've had plenty of people to try and hook me up or atleast put a good word in for me but no dice. i had to resort to making ym own means of income. i started retrofitting windows for a friend's relatives. good money. $1800+ profit for a single job. if i were you, look around and see if there are things you can take advantage of (maybe your dad works for a place where you get stuff for cheap and you can turn around and utilize that) atleast until you find a decent job.

but concerning the job market, i understand where you're coming from. You spend all day filling out retard applications at slave jobs for 7 bucks an hour just to not hear a word from them and you spend a good two weeks trying to chase them down just to get a "no". landscaping is not a bad gig. you might be working with a lot of mexicans (no offense) but the pay might be right.

yea, sell fire protection supplies for cheap! ;)

yea, there are a lot of mexicans working around here actually, but the landscaper up the street is pretty decent size (15+ trucks id guess). i really havent had any strings pulled, right now a website i am building is helping me along, but thats only 250$, and its taken me a few months becuase i have other things to do.

unless you want to settle for crappy jobs like mcdonalds or something, do whatever you can to make some cash like that website deal. that'll work for the time being to get some money in your pocket. unless you owe your parents money like i do ($4000  )

Buy a small bag of crack, give it to a couple of friends for free, then BOOOM you will be making money all summer off of them.

J/K, this is definetly a hard time of year to find temp employment. If you have some friends already working just ask them to notify you of any opening and put in a word for you.
