What's the simplest, best, etc., remote-access software, to access a relative's computer when they need help?

Edit: Assume the OS is XP or Win7, non-Pro (no RDP server support built-in to OS)?

Teamviewer works. There is a portable version which does not require installation. It also does not require port forwarding, and supposedly is pretty secure.

Just go with Teamviewer, it's ridiculously simple to use. My mom was able to download and install it fine and she uses a 2-page document on how to open/read her e-mail.

My aunt's like that. Could you be her love child from a former marriage? :p

I highly recommend logmein.com. Drop dead easy to use. No ports have to be open, etc.

I've also used LogMeIn.com pretty successfully with assisting my Grandmother. I was able to walk her through getting it installed the first time and after that have been able to connect when needed.

You can try www.join.me really simple - as long as the person on the other end can make sure they press the basic option and then an orange button

I believe its part of logmein
