LOL, the season is still early and the Yanks and the Bosox have a few more head to head games to play. The Yanks aren't going to be playing the Devil Rays every other week you know!

You can thank the best team in baseball for being in 1st place.

Angels in '04!!

2004 AL MVP Vlad Guerrero

I could care less about any of your NE teams.

With that being said, I was kind of snickering at all of the BoSox fans early in the season who were already proclaiming a World Series dominance destiny.

True. But I find this turnabout interesting since the pundits, (and Red Sox fanatics), had the Yankees written off after their slow April start and whuppin' at the hands of those same Red Sox.

the way i see it though....is if you aint from NY you shouldnt be a yankee fan. if you are, then you are a bandwagon fan. that goes for all sports with good teams (i.e. lakers, braves, red wings, manchester United) thats my 2 cent$

What if your father was born in New York and raised his son(myself) to be a fan of the best baseball team there has been or ever will be?

The best baseball team that will ever be... until baseball finally gets a damn salary cap.

I guess that's why I love the NFL so much more now.

I'm just happy my Mets swept those damn Phillies and kept the met-killer Pat Burrell in check. Now they have a 4 game series against the Marlins and have a legit chance of being in first place IF they actually sweep them. I can only hope... Let's go Mets!! 😀

We were a fan of the A's in the early 70's?

you are better off than being from lets say florida and liked the yankees when they started to win World series recently...but if you booed jeter for being in a slump you arent a fan..

Boo Jeter? NEVER.... Look at what that guy has done for the Yanks.

EDIT - I was born and raised here in NC. I will always be a Yankee fan.

 Negative

you were A's fans and then you became yankees fans....i didnt see that part! then NO you arent yankee fans.

This is like saying "OMG RED SOX ARE THE BEST IN BASEBALL!!!!!!" when they opened in June with the best record in baseball. Maybe your mommy and daddy forgot to take a swim in the gene pool?

Funny how Yankee fans will brag when they're 1 or 2 games in first since: NY is 1-6 against Boston, got swept in their own house, and let Boston fans chant YANKEES SUCK in their own house. It will be the day when you hear a "Boston sucks" chant at Fenway...

Aside from the fact that Nomar will be back next week, he plays Toledo tonight with the Pawsox... Trot Nixon is facing live pitching today, so he's not much farther down the horizon either. What a :scary: lineup that will be when they're back!

i can honestly say that if you threw a nomar or a tejada on that yankee team...they STILL would have won the world series. Jeter got very lucky. I just hate the fans that are fairweather. When i was watching the yankee game on YES i heard so many boos when jeter was struggling. that is the thing i dont respect about the MOST of the fairweather yankee fans

EDIT - Those are the fans that all boston fans hate...the obnoxious wannabe yankee fans, bandwagon, they make the TRUE FANS look bad.

Um, NY fans were booing Jeter incessantly when you got swept by Boston in the house that Ruth built...

It's infinitely more complicated than that w/ regard to NYC. Yankee?s fans should be from the Bronx. Brooklyn had the Dodgers and the Mets play in Queens, so Mets fans should be from Brooklyn or Queens. Manhattan is a tossup since they had the Giants. However, parts are so close to Yankee stadium and you have a lot of bandwagon fans that were born outside of NYC. SI is well...SI. Then you have LI, which seems to be infested w/ Yankee fans but since they are not part of NYC, we can discount them. Of course, that's how I view it.

Being from Brooklyn, all I can say is..

Let's go Mets!

How many world series has the Yankees won throughout their history again ?, that's all I have to say 😛
