Personally Nelly's raps are too lyrical and not witty enough, but i still enough listening to him
 
Any of the members of Wu-Tang that still do stuff, some of there stuff is good. Dr. Dre is still an awesome producer, too bad his lackies have no talent, (50 cent and Eminem) with the exception of Snoop Dog of course. Although Eminem was good, his latest 2 albums have really sucked.

But that is why Rap is all Crap now an days. All the original thinking hip hop artist's have moved from the mainstream to the underground. Looking for quality rap? You won't hear any of it on the radio.
 
The Roots, Ice Cube, Fat Joe, Cypress Hill are all good. Not sure if they're all *currently* performing live (know Roots and Fat Joe do).
 
I would have said Eminem, but his new album I think is just garbage. So my vote would have to go to pre-encore Eminem. Maybe Kanye West.

Oh, and the Roots and J5 are also awesome, don't know if they count.

thats kinda why I like it actually. Hardcore rap gets too loud after awhile, but Nelly sorta sings his rap, whch is easier on the ears. But yeah, I'm definitely not the hardcore type like all the other AzNs 😛
 
wow, did you guys just start listening to hiphop yesterday? Krs One is hands down the best rap artist that still performs today, hell he influenced every artist mentioned in this thread so far.
 
Forgot about mos def. Don't like his rap as much as the roots, but I like his acting, and really admire him for hosting def poetry jam and all the work entailed. He gets an honorable mention.
