Hi guys,

My house has a lot of random interference, moiles phones don't get good recepetion, etc.

I bought two USB wireless NICs (one Edimax: http://www.dabs.com/productview.aspx?Qu...ctedId=11175&NavigationKey=11175,50010 and one 3COM: http://www.dabs.com/productview.aspx?Qu...tedId=11175&NavigationKey=11175,50362), and the reception is appaling! 🙁 With my laptop right next to the PC it has like 30% maximum signal strength, and quickly diminished as i move the laptop away.

I need one good PCI/USB (i think PCIs have better range?) with excellent range capabilites.

I was looking at this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/D-Link-AirPlus-Xt...1QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Any help much appreciated.

What is your Wireless source; you cannot put PCI in a Laptop.

The sensitivity variation between Wireless Cards per-se is very small and there is No magic Client Card that would compensate for low or and noisy signal.

Range is a variable that has to be dealt with on the Wireless Source side.

If you do not control your own source you need a Wireless Card that can be fitted with External Antenna and you install on it Hi-Gain Directional Antenna.

The best Method to Extend Wireless Coverage depends heavily on the Specific Environment.

Look at these pages they describe most of the options that are within the means of Entry Level users, and choose the one that fits you environment best.

Link to: Extending the Distance of Entry Level Wireless Network.

Link to: Wirelessly Bridging Home / Network.

Link to: Hi Gain Antenna for Entry Level Wireless.

In general, the best Method involves using multiple units connected with wire to the source.

Or WDS ( Wireless Network - Configuration Modes. ) system using Hardware of one Brand across the board.

I have an in-built WiFi card in my laptop, and purchased two for my desktops. I only need one really but the same guy was selling two.

I just need one PCI card for my PC. I looked on CNet and couldn't find much.

All i need is a really good range card.
