Best RAM?

I'm building myself a machine, basic specs are lookling like:

AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Processor
MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum Motherboard
Either ATI X800 or Geforce 6800
1 GB DDR RAM

In regards to RAM, is there any appreciable difference between getting something from Crucial or Corsair as opposed to getting the really high end stuff, like the OCZ Gold Series?

Are you overclocking?

Corsair VS is no competition for OCZ Value VX.

Its pretty much OCZ VX but untested.

It will do 2-2-2-5 at 2.8V and most do at least 240 fsb 2-2-2-5, some 250 and maybe more.

You just need to get the DFI board to push these, either way, they do fine 2-2-2-5 at 2.8V.

I had Corsair VS, it couldnt even do Cas 2, let alone 2-2-2-5.

I don't intend to do any overclocking, though I may at some point in the future to circumvent having to do a full hardware upgrade down the line.

Also, could someone go over what some of those terms actually mean? I am very much a hardware novice... I know enough to keep the system grounded and how to replace various drives and what SATA/PATA is and whatnot, but those terms are essentially gibberish to me.
