Best RAM?

Is Corsair still the best RAM? I see a lot of people getting OCZ, Mushkin, Crucial, etc. Have these brands of RAM surpased Corsair's XMS? Or is it because Corsair is just to expensive?

Corsair, Mushkin, Crucial, OCZ, Patriot/PDP... they're all pretty much equally good. It's not so much the brand, but the chips in the RAM make most of the difference.

Of course, in this day and age with integrated memory controllers on the K8s, high-end memory isn't as necessary for some applications as it used to be.

Are you talking about Athlon 64's? Also how is Kingston for RAM?

Kingston's another good brand.

K8 is the core architecture around which the A64, S754 Semprons, and Opterons are built.

K9 too. Dual-core goodness will make a lot more use out of dual channel. ^^

Are you getting a A64? Corsair VS1GBKIT400 will work just fine with no real performance loss and can be had for <$100

What are the sepcs of that ram? There are basically 10 variations of 1 speed by Corsair.

I plan on building an Athlon 64 Bit system this summer. Will the dual-core CPU's be out by then? If not, will they be out by the end of the year?

People use words in many different ways... What exactly do you mean by "best"?

DDR400, Cas2.5

Unless you plan on doing extreme overclocking that ram will be just fine

Toledo should be out this autumn.

For an A64 PC plain old, high quality Crucial works best.

I too stick with Crucial ram,it has excellent compatibility and very good quality,the lifetime warranty and customer service support is also excellent.
