Best/Quietest Socket A HSF????

Whats the Best/Quietest Socket A HSF?? I am going to put it on a new 266bus T-Bird so it needs to be powerful but I also like to hear so it has to be quiet

I'm shopping for one to....

I'm going to try the Alpha pal6035A.

It uses the same fan as the Fop32(28cfm ys tech), well the version I'm looking at does. But since the fan is pulling air off instead of blowing on to the heatsink, there is less turbulance which means less noise.

Can anyone confirm this?

I ordered an Alpha Pal6035 with the 27.2 YS tech fan.

They are all back order though so I probably won't get it till the end of next week!

I'll see how noisy it is!

The Pal6035 is great, and will perform will even with a quieter fan than the one you ordered.

The taisol cgk742 heatsink is also very nice.

i really like the looks of the super orb, also hear its a decent performer, but if you've got a tight situation they are tough, and needs extra room from capacitors too, also heard of somethhing called hedge hog, i think anandtech gave it a good review

i have an alpha 6035 with either a ys-tech fan if anyone wants

it has the old clip tho. i just retensioned it, and it works just fine. works pretty good actually

And in my sig is why the Anandtech socket A heatsink "comparison" is completely wrong. A c-orb performing within 2C of a pal6035? Sure, by the reported thermistor, that is the result you'll get, but is it indicative of "real-world" performance?

Read into my thread to find out why this test was a farce. And is a disgrace to the usual good quality of anandtech reviews.
