Best QUIET cooler for a64 x2 on Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe mobo?

Currently using Thermaltake big typhoon, but it seems to be failing, computer is overheating and rebooting. Time to replace, I think.

Thanks!

The Big Typhoon ranks at the top of quiet coolers. If it's possible, why not just replace the fan on it with a quiet 120mm fan of your choice?

The Scythe Ninja works well, but since you've already got a good heatsink, I'd look at upgrading only if fan replacement wasn't possible.

Hmm, maybe I should take it apart and see if there's some other problem, then....

i agree with this statement. The big typhoon is a pretty awesome cooler. I would just replace the fan if its not cutting it for you.

Heres a hint. If you drop in a higher cmf fan have the air suck though the blades and exhaust out the side intake of your case. If its a low cmf fan like the stock then just have it blow on the fins.

How did you get that image in your sig?? I want to do that 😀

OK back on topic, those two fans that BCJ listed look good. I'd think that the quieter one should be enough. OP do you have good thermal goop on your CPU like arctic silver 5?

Hmm, next question, does anyone know if the stock fan on the Big Typhoon can be replaced?
I've never seen one in real life, but it looks like the fan is held by 4 screws. If you remove those screws, you should be able to replace the fan.

Would the 64 cmf fan listed by BigCoolJesus below be worth doing as you say, having it suck through the blades and exhaust out the side intake? Or @ 64 would the other direction be better?

Thanks once more!
