I'm building a computer with an E6600 processor and a 7950GX2 graphics card. I need a great power supply that will be able to run SLI and would like it to be as quiet and inexpensive as possible. Thank you.

You're another guy that can buy two graphic cards, then cheap out on a PSU. Shame on you.!
A 510 PCP&C would do, an Enhance ENS-0560G would do, a Silverstone ST60F or ST65ZF,
an Enermax 600W Liberty might do. Meh! Read reviews at SPCR for silence or http://www.PSUInquisitor.com/ for some more good reviews.

Galvanized knows his PSUs. Don't go cheap on such an important part of your rig. You'll only regret it later. Buy what your system needs. Use nVidia's list of Recommended PSU's to help you chose the right one, and then go read a ton of reviews on it.

Whats funny is the guy is buying a top of the line chip and is going to get a nice mobo and have 2 nice video cards yet he wants a great power supply that is cheap and quiet.
Now why would you spend money on a cheap power supply?
For that system you need to spend some money and get yourself a real power supply.
Not some inexpensive piece of junk that when and if it goes bad will take your whole system with it.
You put to gether a nice computer, you buy a nice power supply that will take care of that computer. The power supply is the most important piece of equipment you are going to buy for your computer.
You want silent there are several ways to go.....
OCZ brand or Seasonic s12. The Enermax Liberty is also a nice computer.
I always get a laugh from those people who build top of the line computers but think about the PSU last.

Well, cheap is kinda subjective. Besides, the OP said, 'inexpensive as possible'. Big difference than saying he wanted something than just cheap. The Seasonics are way cheaper in price than say something from PCPower & Cooling. Both are good products from good companies but you dont need to pay the higher price for same performance and quality when it comes to psu. GY and Boyo made some good reccomendations.
I bought an Enhance ENS-0560G for $99 from http://www.ewiz.com/ Recently they were $103, now they are OoS. They will Froogle for around $130. Specs can be seen at http://www.enhanceusa.com/
There are several Fortron, Sparkle and Enermax units that will meet the recs of SLI at ewiz. Select what you need then Froogle for best price.

The 600W OCZ Gamexstream seems to be a pretty nice one for around $115 on Newegg ($25 cheaper than the equivalent Fortron one).

ST56ZF. At little more expensive but with a huge 38 amp 12v rail which peaks at 45amps if I'm correct. But only 560W so 45amps is around 540W lol. Etasis makes it. 80mm fan but it's rated at 50C so you could probably add a quieter fan in but jonnyguru said it wasn't loud...
The 600W GameXstream is good especially at the price OCZ has it at. Cheap and pretty silent. Think this or the enhance is your best bet.
The Enhances are cheaper with modular cabling that you might like... Also works well. The one galvanized reccomended.

I realize that the power supply is an important part of your system, but I know there are companies that make higher quality power supplies than others at lower prices, that's why I asked for one that was inexpensive AS POSSIBLE.
So, between the OCZ Powerstream 600W and the ST56ZF, which one would be better?

Build Quality the Etasis wins. However in Power the 600W GameXstream can supply 44 amps on the 12v max though it won't really come that close to it... since you'll have some load on the 5V and 3.3V rails as well. GameXstream is cheaper or maybe it's the same?
So Etasis>Fortron Build quality. Now I don't have any first hand experience but oklahoma wolf who got the ST56Zf psu from jonnyguru said that Etasis is on par with PCP&C.

The problem most PSU's have with SLI/Crossfire is the dual 12V rail conundrum. Agreed on the ST56ZF as it has a single, large 12V rail AND it doesn't cost a lot. Just need to sleeve the ugly ass cables.
Of course, if you're willing to up the budget, quad 12V rail is the way to go.
